Lloyds bank in Louth is holding a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Society. Customers can ask for a free raffle ticket at the counter, and will be in with the chance of winning a six-foot tall inflatable reindeer.

The prize draw will be on Thursday December 19.

Manager Andrew Knight hopes that people will put forward voluntary contributions towards the Alzheimer’s Society, in a bid to raise a few hundred pounds for the charity.

Mr Knight said: “Hallmark kindly donated the reindeer, and I’d like to thank SJ Leam and Janet Scott for setting up the fundraiser.

“Although banks usually get a bad press, we are trying to raise money for a very good cause and plug it back to the community. We want to contribute and really get something good going.

“We hope to raise a couple of hundred pounds or so, and we’ve already raised £30 since it started at 3pm yesterday (Wednesday December 11). Not bad for a couple of hours of fundraising!

“Our staff have got involved too because they want to help the cause, but they have pledged that if they win they’re going to give the reindeer away to a children’s home.”

Pop in to the Lloyds bank on Mercer Row before Thursday December 19 to be in with a chance of winning.
