The team that decided to take on the famous Three Peak Challenge in memory of Little Grimsby woman Kay Mowbray, as reported in the Leader (June 11), have completed their adventure and raised over £4000 for Cancer Research UK.

The team consisted of Kay’s son Richard Mowbray and her son-in-law Paul Barker, plus several family friends. The team completed the challenge in just over 23 hours.

Richard Mowbray said: “We’re really pleased with how it went. The weather was kind to us! There was a bit of traffic getting to Snowdon, but we were already well ahead of our time by then. We’re very pleased with the amount raised.”

The team’s JustGiving page will remain open all year, as Richard is set to take part in the Great North Run in September. You can make a donation at www.justgiving.com/Kay-Mowbray-Three-Peaks
