The Louth Sausage Club has completed its first year with a gathering at the Wheatsheaf pub in Westgate at which a £45 donation was handed to Kelly Upritchard, fundraiser for St Andrew’s Hospice.

The club was formed at the start of 2013 by a small group of locals who recognise and enjoy the excellence of Louth’s sausages.

Gatherings are usually held once a month at the Wheatsheaf.

On each occasion a different sausage recipe, prepared by multi award winning Louth butcher, Trevor Fairburn, is served with mashed potatoes, peas and rich gravy.

Currently there are over 20 paid up members of the club with the annual fee being donated to a good cause.
