A swim team from St Michael’s CE Primary School in Louth took part in the national English Schools’ Swimming Assocation (ESSA) competition on June 21, where they achieved three second personal bests.

The girls team took part in the competition at Ponds Forge in Sheffield and achieved 1.04.81 in the freestyle relay, and 1.15.51 in the mixed medley.

Both were school records, and missed out on the top spot by just a matter of a few seconds. The winning teams, all from London and South East independent schools, swam under a minute for the freestyle relay and 1.05 in the medley. Overall the St Michael’s team came 20th in the freestyle relay and 23rd in the mixed medley, but a fantastic standard of swimming was performed by all those in the team. Congratulations to everybody who took part.
