Louth store celebrates Thorntons ‘best franchise’ win

A FAMILY-run Louth store is celebrating the sweet taste of success after being given a double award this week.

Indulgence of Louth, a card and gift shop in Mercer Row, has been named as Thorntons Franchise of the Year for 2011/12 and Best Franchise Newcomer, beating over 170 stores.

Owners Rebecca and Mel Tilley have not looked back since opening for business in August 2011.

They were judged on a number of factors including customer service, credit management, products and store layout, and received glowing reviews on each – as well as a 97 per cent score on their recent audit.

Rebecca said: “We’re really pleased to have won both awards; no-one has ever won the two awards together before.

“There’s lots more to do but we’re chuffed to bits. We’ve had so much support since we opened for trading and want to thank our customers and staff.

“It’s been very hard work but it’s fantastic to be recognised.

“To celebrate we’re giving every customer who comes into store a free chocolate smile!”

George Horton, interim chairman of the Louth Town Partnership added: “The first year of trading can be a difficult one, especially in the current economic climate, but it is great to hear of another successful family run shop achieving great things.”
