A woman from Louth is set to raise over £1000 for a testicular cancer charity by volunteering to have her head shaved - before donating her 23-inch hair to a charity that provides wigs for children who lose their own hair through cancer treatment.

Rebecca Davis, 24, of Pleasant Place, will have her hair shaved off on Wednesday December 11 at the Graduate Salon on Aswell Street. Her sister Louise, who is currently training there, will do the honours of shaving Rebecca’s hair off.

Rebecca is raising money for Ballboys, a charity that seeks to inform and educate people about testicular cancer. Her hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust.

Rebecca said: “I decided to give my hair to children who lose theirs through cancer treatments, as they go through a horrible time and losing your hair can just make you feel even worse.

“Losing your hair can really affect your self-esteem, especially for young girls.

“I’m excited about having my head shaved, but I’ll probably be nervous on the day.”
