Luck of Louth owner and founder Jim Luck is delighted that the retailer has been shortlisted in the UK Top Independent Retailers’ Awards.

The Awards are sponsored and administered by The Drapers’s Record, the respected national trade publication dedicated to fashion retail. Luck of Louth has been shortlisted in the Lifestyle category. The awards ceremony will take place at The Waldorf Hilton in London on November 7.

Being shortlisted reflects the company’s commitment to it’s core principles; of being able ‘to clothe someone from head to toe...’ and ‘ provide the finest selection of premium quality accessories for both ladies and gentlemen’.

Since its beginnings in 1985 selling mainly luggage and leathergoods, Luck of Louth has grown to become a premium one-stop shop for clothing, countrywear and lifestyle goods.

Luck of Louth specialises in providing customers with carefully selected, classic, well-made products from trusted brands that will last and be a joy to own and wear, as well as offering bespoke services such as personal tailoring.

Owner and founder, Jim Luck, explained: “This is a really proud day for me and my wonderful team at Luck of Louth. It proves to us that our dedication to old-fashioned customer service, supplying high-quality goods and listening to what our customers need and want, has brought dividends once again.

“It’s very heartening to know that despite current difficult times for many retailers - small, independent businesses like ours can still thrive and grow. It just takes a bit of imagination, initiative and a strong commitment to your core values. I’m delighted to be included in this illustrious award shortlist and to see independent retailers like us achieve national recognition for our contribution to keeping the British high street unique, special and interesting.”

The company listed as number 74 in the Drapers’ Inspiring Independents in 2013, rising from number 92 in 2012. Awards have been in plentiful supply this year, as owner Jim Luck also won the Society of Shoe Fitters’ 2012 Student Of The Year Award at the Footwear Industry Awards dinner in February this year. The company has also been investing in helping staff become professionally-qualified shoefitters, through a rigorous training course with the National Society of Shoefitters. Three staff are now qualified, with more planned to undertake the training soon.

Luck of Louth is an appointed ‘Select’ retailer for Radley, as well as being a key regional stockist of well-known brands such as Schoffel, Dubarry, Musto, Gant, Samsonite and RM Williams. Alongside two shops spread across five units on Louth’s Eastgate, Luck’s also have a thriving web store at www.luckoflouth.com showcasing the key brands on offer. Since its launch just before Christmas 2012, the website has grown steadily with customers worldwide trusting Luck of Louth to supply high-quality goods online (as well as instore) from many of the classic brands such as Barbour, Loake, Ecco and The Bridge.
