A Community Lunch group in Mablethorpe has brought the whole community together after providing a strong group of 60 with a Christmas meal.

Founder of Community Lunch, Lisa Collins wanted to bring the people of Mablethorpe together and essentially be able to feed them with wholesome hearty food in the process.

This group is a non-profit organisation and simply ask for a small donation based on what each person who attends can afford.

The cost simply funds the food that goes on the plate and for the relevant kitchen utensils and equipment that is required.

Lisa Collins said: “We have people from all walks of life come to Community Lunch, even the homeless who are simply in need of a hot meal.

“It also enables us to get them some extra help long term.”

Lisa also said: “On Tuesday, we had a Christmas meal and we had a fantastic turnout as 60 people attended our festive lunch.

“Community Lunch is a great way to connect with people, whether you are new to the area or just looking for someone to have a good natter with. This lunch group is going from strength to strength, with more people attending each week. In 2014 we can continue to show people what is good about Mablethorpe.”

Community Lunch takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 12.30pm and a two-course meal will be served from 12.45pm and the group meets at Hope House at 97 Victoria Road in Mablethorpe. Anyone of any age is welcome to attend.
