A man admitted causing damage at his former girlfriend’s home when he appeared before magistrates at Skegness.
Benjamin Andrew Barnett, 22, of Monks Dyke Road, Louth, was said to have been in a relationship with Lana Martin, but they had split up. Prosecutor Nick Todd said the two met by chance on the evening of January 25 and there had been some words between them. He said at 9.50am the following morning Barnett turned up at her home and when she wouldn’t answer the door , he went round to the back of the house, picked up a table that was there and threw it at the back door, smashing one of the glass panels. The police were called and he was arrested. He admitted the offence.
Barnett, who was not represented, told magistrates he regretted his actions. The magistrates imposed a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay a £15 victim surcharge, £50 in costs and £140 in compensation.
