Margaret gets volunteer award for work with British Heart Foundation
A VOLUNTEER from Hainton has received a British Heart Foundation (BHF) Volunteer of the Year award during Volunteers Week, the national celebration of volunteering.
Margaret Neale scooped the accolade for area winner in Lincolnshire for her service as a volunteer for the charity.
Over the years Margaret has fundraised with the support of her husband and friends. In 2011 she raised just over £2,000 for the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal through a series of musical events.
Margaret, who is also a heat patient, said: “I am delighted to have been given such a prestigious title as there are so many worthy volunteers who give their time to the BHF. It has been rewarding work and I have enjoyed the last 10 years.”
