Meridian Leisure Centre nears one million visits
The Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth had to close after an explosion caused a power cut in the town.
Almost one million visits have been recorded at the Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth since it opened in February 2010.
The centre, built and run by East Lindsey District Council, celebrates its third birthday on February 6, 2013.
As well as almost one million visits, the centre is home to 20 clubs from the local area.
To mark the third birthday, the Council is promoting a range of special leisure offers, which it hopes will encourage more people to take part in sports and leisure activities on a regular basis.
Offers available from February 4 to February 10, include:
• Those people signing up to a full year’s membership at the Meridian Leisure Centre, and paying upfront at £355, will receive a pass entitling a friend or relative to a three month free membership, worth over £100.
• Those joining for a 12 month Direct Debit Fitness Membership at the standard £33.50 per month will receive a free annual Junior (11-15yr old) Membership, saving £120.00.
• On Wednesday, February 6, 2013, residents will be able to purchase a Joint 12 month (paid up front) Fitness Membership for just £600, saving £204 off the standard price.
As well as the special offers, Meridian Leisure Centre members who have signed up to a Fitness Membership prior to February 6, 2013, will be entered into a prize draw to win a lifetime free fitness membership at the Meridian Leisure Centre, subject to terms and conditions.
Portfolio Holder for Leisure at the District Council, Councillor Adam Grist, said: “I am delighted the Meridian Leisure Centre remains so well used by the community, helping to improve the health of local people. As the Centre goes from strength to strength, we hope to entice even more people through the doors to experience the wonderful facilities available.”
