Two sisters from Louth are raising money to help provide bereaved parents with ‘memory boxes’ following miscarriage or stillbirth.
Zoe Ward, 29, and her sister Becky Proctor, 23, will be taking a walk on the wild side on Thursday May 8 when they both go out and about in teddy bear costumes.
The pair will be dressed up for the entire day, including the school run in the morning. They will then go for a walk around Hubbard’s Hills - probably turning a few heads and getting a few confused looks along the way!
However, it is all for a good cause. Zoe and Becky are currently gathering sponsorships, with all donations going to 4Louis, a charity that aims to provide hospitals with memory boxes to be given to bereaved parents free of charge.
Zoe said: “I lost a little boy Charlie at 23 weeks pregnant in 2010, and then a little boy Kenzo in 2012 at 22 weeks.
“Grimsby maternity hospital and the midwives were absolutely fantastic with me.
“With Charlie I was given a memory box with hand and foot prints and a certificate of birth, as you don’t get a proper one unless you have a stillborn past 24 weeks. These little bits were a comfort to me after leaving the hospital.
“Unfortunately with Kenzo they didn’t have any memory boxes left. The charity that makes them relies on donations and fundraising to make them, hence the reason I’m raising money for them,
“This is why I am raising money for 4Louis. It’s my way of thanking Grimsby Hospital and the midwives for all they did.”

And of course, keep an eye out for them on May 8!
