A dedicated Lincolnshire Co-op travel agent from the Louth branch has fought off strong competition to scoop a spot as one of six finalists in the running for a national award.
Louth branch manager Kerry Emson-Smith has been one of the
society’s top performing travel colleagues for the last 10 years. During this time, her branch has
won the Gold Customer Service Award, out of all 13 travel branches, for two years running.
After 20 years in the travel business, Kerry is well-known and loved by all her customers for going the extra mile and now this dedication has been recognised with a nomination in the prestigious TTG Travel Awards.
Kerry said: “I’m shocked to be nominated, I can’t believe it.
“These awards are like the BAFTAs of travel, that’s how prestigious they are. No individual from Lincolnshire Co-op has ever been shortlisted within this category.
“I’ve been at my branch in Louth from day one ten years ago. Along with my team, I’ve built the branch up and trained my staff up and we’ve got platinum mystery shopper status.”
Kerry puts her success down to her wealth of experience.
She added: “I’m so lucky to have travelled the world, I’ve been all over so I’m able to give that advice and experience to my customers and be honest and confident with them. I cruise once or twice a year and I do trips and stay in specific hotels just so I can tell my customers about them. I just love my job! I’m here every day, if I’ve got a day off the customers ask where I am.”
Winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony at the Lyceum Theatre on September 15.
