The plan has a number of objectives which have different time frames, short-term, mid-term and long-term, totalling five years and beyond.

After five months of intensive research, consultation, and preparation, final touches were applied to the new plan by members of the Coastal Community Team, assembled and administrated by MAP CIC (Mablethorpe Area Partnership Board) prior to its submission to the department of communities and local government.

Operations manager at MAP CIC Karen Froggatt commented: “It is a very comprehensive document.

“Everyone has been most supportive and we have tried to involve all sectors of the community.

“We believe we have identified the key issues that need to be addressed in order to halt and reverse the economic decline of the last 20 years.”

The plan is intended to be a ‘living document’ which can be updated, amended and added to as things evolve.

Ms Froggatt added: “If successful, measures identified in our plan could receive significant government funding and assistance to help overcome the obstacles and challenges that have plagued our economic growth over recent years.”

It will also be viewable on the Coastal Communities Alliance website via: www.coastalcommunities.co.uk.
