Three new walks being launched in East Lindsey are the perfect way to get fit after a festive period of indulgence.
Walks in Wragby and Skegness will be run by East Lindsey District Council and are designed to suit experienced ‘walkers’ as well as those new to leisure walking.
The Wragby walk will take place on Saturday, January 4, at Chambers Farm Wood from 9.30am to 10.30am. It will cover in the region of three or four miles depending on the ability of the walkers.
The Skegness walk will take place on Tuesday, January 7, between 2-3pm starting from the Embassy Swimming Pool. It will be run by the District Council’s HEELERS group and will aim to walk about one mile.
There will also be a walk hosted by Martin Thomas of Mandarin Leisure, at Horncastle. This will be a Nordic walk and will start at 9.30am outside Horncastle Swimming Pool on Wednesday, January 8.
The walk will be about two to three miles. Martin also runs weekly Nordic Walks on Mondays starting at the Petwood Hotel, Woodhall Spa, at 9.30am.
Walks programme Officer Tracey Richardson said: “I am very pleased to announce the launch of these walks which complement our existing programme of walks in the District.
“What better way is there to get out and explore the wonderful area in which we live? Soon you will realise the benefits of walking on your health and wellbeing.”
