Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service is calling on people near North Somercotes to consider a role as an on-call firefighter.

The station will be holding a recruitment evening on Wednesday, January 29 from 6-8pm.

Sarah Turner, watch commander support said: “The station is a massive part of the community in North Somercotes and this is a fantastic chance for people to be a part of that.

“We would like to meet anyone who lives within five minutes of the station and is aged 18 or over at the recruitment evening, where they can find out what it means to be an on-call firefighter.

“The crew and the recruitment team will be on hand to answer questions about what the role involves, the application process, and the physical and written standards required.

“There’ll be a chance to have a look around the station too.”

An on-call firefighter is a paid role, carrying out the same duties as a whole-time firefighter but on a part time basis to fit in with other work and personal commitments.

Family and friends are welcome at the recruitment evening and there is no need to book in advance, just turn up on Wednesday 29 January.

For more information, or if you can’t make this date, call the Recruitment Team on 0800 3580 204 or call Sarah Turner on 07824 607509.
