Nostalgia: Mablethorpe Railway Station (1970)

Here is a photograph of Mablethorpe Railway Station, taken in the summer of 1970.

It was taken not long before the line closed and shows passengers waiting for their train home after holidaying in the resort.

It has been supplied to us by the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway.

There will be an illustrated talk, arranged by the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway Society, at Mablethorpe Library.

The subject is ‘Trains to the Lincolnshire Seaside’, covering Mablethorpe, Sutton on Sea, Skegness and Cleethorpes.

The talk, by local railway author Alf Ludlam, will be on Wednesday , September 21 at 3pm and entry is free.
