Not On My Street campaign launched

A new campaign called Not On My Street has been launched to stop dog fouling in Louth.

A few irresponsible dog owners have been causing a problem for a while and it has been highlighted by coun margaret Ottaway.

Now, East Lindsey District Council with support from local organisations, including the Mayor, Coun Jill Makinson-Sanders, is encouraging dog owners to clear up after their pets and for local people to report offenders.

Dog owners are being reminded that not clearing up after a dog carries a fine of £75.

To launch the campaign councillors and Louth In Bloom Group took a walk around dog fouling hotspots, including Northgate, Cannon Street, Rosemary Lane, Little Eastgate, Abbey Road, Park Avenue, Linden Walk, George Street and Gospelgate.

Posters by Keep Britain Tidy highlighting the issue will be distributed to the public and a new webpage has been launched at www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/notonmystreet explaining the penalty associated with being caught not clearing up after a dog.

People can be reported to the District Council on 01507 601111.
