Doctors at the James Street Family Practice in Louth have gone into partnership with the Tasburgh Lodge Surgery in Woodhall Spa for patient care.
The Tasburgh Lodge Surgery, founded by the Armour family before the start of the NHS, has been run for the past 26 years by Dr Keith Butter, who is now retiring.
Some years ago, he approached the James Street Practice to take over the running of the surgery, because of his ‘confidence and trust’ in the doctors there.
From this month xperienced doctors from James Street will go to Woodhall Spa to work on a rotational basis.
As a result, the practice will be taking on a new partner in the form of Dr Anna Henderson, an experienced doctor from a teaching practice in Nottingham.
Both say they will practices will benefit from the merger: “Woodhall Spa will gain from modernisation, collaboration and innovation and James Street Doctors will benefit from consolidation, integration and diversification.”
Dr Butter will continue to work in the Woodhall Spa Practice for some time into his retirement, but the James Street Doctors will gradually take the load from him over time.
