A PLANNING application has been submitted to East Lindsey District Council for the development of three wind turbines on land near Louth Canal.
Renewable energy developer Partnerships for Renewables (PfR) is proposing the development on adjoining pieces of land owned by the Environment Agency and a local private landowner.
Dr Jo Fleming, Regional Manager at PfR, said: “We believe the land is suitable for three turbines which will stand at a maximum tip height of 113.5 meters and could generate up to 16.4 gigawatt hours (GWh) of green electricity every year - enough to power approximately 3,680 homes.
“As part of our ongoing consultation programme we will be holding another public event now that we have submitted our plans. This will offer local residents an opportunity to view the planning application and associated documents, and share any questions or comments with the project team.
“It will also offer another chance to see photomontages which show how the turbines would look in the landscape from various recognised viewpoints.”
In a statement the company said: “If the development goes ahead there will be a community benefit fund associated with the turbines which would generate up to £18,750 per year for the life of the project (£2,500 per MW). This money will be placed in an independently-managed fund available to the local community to be spent as it sees fit.”
Public exhibitions will be held at two loations -
Tuesday May 1 from 1pm to 7pm at Tetney Village Hall, Humberston Road, Tetney.
Wednesday May 2from 10am to 3pm at North Thoresby Village Hall, The Square, North Thoresby.
