Plans to build 33 retirement cottages on land at Manor House Farm in Reston Road, Legbourne near Louth, have been given the planning go ahead by the District Council.
Applicant D R Harrison Ltd’s proposal was well support during Thursday’s planning committee meeting in Manby.
All councillor’s present at the meeting voted in favour of the plans subject to 22 conditions, which the applicant was happy to comply with and surrounded issues of sewage, foul water drainage and pedestrian access besides other amendments in order for the plans to become successful.
The plans will see the erection of eight detached houses and 25 assisted living/retirement cottages, making 33 in total.
There are also other proposals in the application, which include change of use of part of the existing dwelling to provide administration/reception areas and guest suites for the assisted living/retirement cottages, extension and alterations to existing dwelling to provide a sun room and glazed link to existing day nursery.
Plus for there are alteration plans to existing day nursery to provide external canopy and increased internal facilities.
In addition there is also an idea for an indoor swimming pool to serve both the nursery and retirement cottages and provision of two vehicular accesses including roads and parking.
Other infrastructure includes; substation, board walk and landscaping including excavation of land to provide enlarged ponds.
Speaking at the meeting, George Harrison was representing his family, the applicants, said: “We feel that long term sustainability is paramount for this project and we possess all of the skills to make these plans successful.”
Coun Burnett said: “I’m quite impressed, this is much needed in East Lindsey, what could be better.
“The plans are well thought out, my only concern lies with the main road and access to the site.”
Coun Makinson-Sanders added: “I feel they will do very well and I wish them the best of luck for this project.”
