Pocklingtons spread the word about baking skills
Staff at Pocklingtons in Louth: Hollie Pocklington, Julie Appleby, Amy Byrne, Bridget Woods and Diane Williams.
WITHERN-based Pocklingtons bakers, whose main shop is in Louth, are cooking up treats as part of the upcoming National Craft Bakers Week.
The week, lasting from October 8-13, unites bakers from across the nation in a celebration of craft baking skills and delicious, freshly-baked food for all to enjoy.
For craft bakers it is a chance to share their baking passion with their local community. For consumers it is an opportunity to learn about the traditional skills involved in baking fresh cakes, pies, pastries and bread and demonstrate their support for their local bakery.
The Louth shop, in the Market Place, will hold two competitions, a children’s colouring competition with a first prize of a Halloween dome cake, and customers spending £5 or more will be given a raffle ticket for the chance to win a Christmas hamper.
The shop will also be holding a ‘big taste’ outside their Louth shop, where customers can meet staff and taste special samples of Pocklington’s delicious bread and cakes and take advantage of giveaway vouchers.
And on Monday, October 8, pupils at St Margaret’s School in Withern, as well as other local schools on subsequent days, will be enjoying a talk and baking session from Hollie Pocklington from the bakers.
More promotions will be taking place in-store and will be announced soon.
