A man described as being in his teens made off after attempting to snatch a handbag from a woman in Louth on Friday.

PC Ellie Brennan is appealing for witnesses after the incident which happened between 12noon and 12.30pm outside the Trinity Church in Eastgate.

A white man described as in his teens, average height and build with a scabby complexion wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a black puffer jacket and trainers attempted to snatch the bag from a 46 year-old woman before running off towards the town centre.

Anyone with information should contact PC Ellie Brennan by dialling 101 and quoting incident 225 of February 15.
