Police investigate arson attacks on Louth and Fotherby farmland

POLICE are investigating two haystack fires, both believed to be arson attacks, from Wednesday night.

Fire crews were called to Fotherby Top at around 9.45pm and tackled 36 half-tonne bails that were ablaze. Crews pulled them apart using drags and let them burn out before damping down.

Shortly after crews had to attend another stack fire behind Virginia Drive in Louth, at about 10.20pm.

PCSO Zaza Warren reports that two suspicious vehicles were seen in the Fotherby area the day before the fire.

Police are currently treating both as arson attacks and are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information can call Lincolnshire Police on 101.
