Police warning over suspicious men asking for money
Police have issued a warning over suspicious men in the county.
They have had reports that men having a ‘Mediterranean appearance’ are approaching members of the public then asking for money.
The maen are asking for petrol money to get them to an airport or London (£40 to £50) in return for being offered jackets or watches.
Have you been approached by one of these men?
Can you give details of the cars they are travelling in?
If you have or can give any further intelligence then please ring 101 to give police that vital piece of information that will enable them to locate the whereabouts of these men.
Police say if you are approached, do not enter into any discussions but simply walk away or enter a local shop if possible. If you are in a vehicle, please ensure that you keep all doors locked and windows closed for your own safety.
