Cordeaux Academy’s highly anticipated Year 11 Prom was held on June 27 at Kenwick Park Hotel.
The venue’s driveway was transformed into a Hollywood film premiere as the crowds all eagerly awaited, with flashing cameras at the ready, the arrival of each student “superstar”.
From Ferraris to Jaguars, huge tractors with wheels bigger than houses, pristine vintage cars, white stretch limousines, a racing sidecar and even a helicopter arrived to drop off the very special guests .
The ‘Class of 2014’certainly pulled out all the stops to make a show-stopping red carpet entrance.
After welcome speeches and a traditional sit down dinner and dessert, the Cordeaux Prom King and Queen 2014 were announced. The winners were Jacob Dales and Lily Dicker, voted by staff and Year 11s for being the best ‘all-round’ students.
Staff say that both Jacob and Lily have been fantastic during all their time at Cordeaux Academy and thoroughly deserve the accolade.
The entertainment swiftly followed with a good old-fashioned knees up at the disco. For those not in the dancing mood there was a photo booth and a fun-style casino which went down a storm.
Congratulations to Callum Almey on the Blackjack table who won the evening’s highest number of casino chips (several million dollars worth!) and the winning bottle of bubbly (non-alcoholic, of course).
At midnight, staff and students all gathered for the final song bidding a fond farewell and best wishes for the future.
Cordeaux Academy would like to thanks Mr West as compère and Kenwick Park Hotel staff for a great night.
