Pupils on the coast worm their way into World Book Day
No Caption ABCDE
Pupils from Theddlethorpe and Sutton on Sea Primary Schools celebrated the written word and dressed up as their favourite literary heroes to mark World Book Day.
World Book Day officially took place on Thursday, March 7 and the event is the biggest celebration of its kind.
Millions of book tokens are given out so youngsters far and wide can benefit from a free book of their choice.
This continues the on-going hype of the written word that has brought about lasting fictional characters that become our childhood idols.
Whether it be Harry Potter, Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Rabbit, Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood or Snow White, there’s always a story to tell which has captivated young minds for generations.
This celebration of reading got children on the coast into a frenzy and they couldn’t wait to dress up and make the characters of the books they love come alive.
All pupils including teachers dressed to impress and re-created every book character favourite you could ever think of.
Local schools in the area celebrate a wide variety of events during the school year and World Book Day is always a favourite.
The next event that schools will celebrate is Comic Relief, with the pupils wearing the iconic red nose.
