Jayne Jacklin is a health visitor, specialist teacher and senior sexual health nurse.

The award is given to recognise nurses in the community who show an on-going commitment to high standards of patient care, leadership and training.

On hearing the news of her Queen’s Nurse title, Jayne said: “I have been very fortunate to embrace the opportunities my nursing career has offered me. To help others on such a personal level is a privilege.

“I have worked with many families and agencies over the years, each one bringing a new challenge and reward.

“As a practice teacher I have been able to pass on my knowledge and experience to others. I believe this is simply my job. To receive this recognition is a great honour and I feel very proud.”

Jayne qualified as a nurse in 1978 and started her career at the old Grimsby hospital. She then completed her midwife training and further went on to qualify as a health visitor, a specialist community public health nurse.

Jayne has developed within the health visiting role and has worked for Lincolnshire Community Health Services for more than 30 years. She is well known in the East Lindsey area to many families and colleagues for her dedication and expertise.

Carolyn Krupa, locality lead for Lincs Community Health Services, said: “Well done Jayne. Queen’s Nurses play an important role in contributing to the development of services.”
