Quiz and chips at South Willingham

Local news

Local news

It was a full house in South Willingham Parish Hall when a quiz and fish and chips were on the menu and while it proved to be a very happy social evening it raised a welcome £198 for hall funds too.

The almost fifty servings of fish and chips for supper were collected from the Heneage Arms Community pub literally just up the road at Hainton for the first time - and they were piping hot and delicious. The pub is only open on Fridays and Saturdays with fish and chip night on Fridays being particularly busy but they managed to provide the Willingham quiz teams with their chips too and as the drivers returned to the hall they took a break to enjoy food and a chat. The servings for previous quiz nights have been obtained from nearby towns but this was a very successful new venture and a much more convenient arrangement of benefit to both small communities.

With supper over it was back to business and taking part in teams of six, the quizzers puzzled over more questions from Chris Washer general knowledge, Maureen Ferguson Lincolnshire, David Nut ten sports, June Sylvester Picture Quiz and Steve music.
