Railway Children movie locomotive visits area
A VINTAGE steam locomotive that starred in classic film The Railway Children is coming to the area.
The locomotive, named Sir Berkeley, will visit the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway at Ludborough.
It appeared in the 1970 movie version of the much-loved story starring Jenny Agutter.
Joining Sir Berkeley at the railway’s Easter Gala will be another well-known steam locomotive ex-British Railways Tank Engine 69023 Joem, which will be making its first-ever visit to Lincolnshire.
The gala will be spread over three days from April 7 to 9.
LWR Events Organiser Gordon Newton said: “As well as a great line-up of engines we’ll have lots of other attractions for all the family over Easter such as vintage vehicle displays, face painting and a ‘Bunny Run’ on the Sunday with a free Easter Egg for all the children travelling on the train.”
