Pupils at Mablethorpe Primary Academy recently took part in a Ready Steady Read challenge, hosted by Usborne Books that helps to promote literacy in the classroom.

It introduces the importance of reading at home to parents and the school can receive up to 60 per cent worth of books free.

The children were sponsored to read as much as they could over a seven day period and raised £670.35, and with a further £402.22 given by Usborne, the school received a massive £1072.56 to spend on new Usborne books for both the classroom and for the library.
