After a hard-fought battle between the local area’s top hair salons and stylists over the past two months, the Leader can finally reveal who has been crowned as the ‘Salon of the Year’ for 2014.
Dozens of you sent in your voting slips once the competition got underway, but the victorious salon with the most votes is ‘Revolution Hair and Beauty’ in Mablethorpe - congratulations!
Salon owner Lisa Short screamed with delight as she was told the good news, and said she was “absolutely amazed” at their success.
Lisa opened the salon in 2005 as a brand new venture and, along with her two friends Laura and Becca Smith, the trio have built up a loyal clientele from the surrounding area.
Lisa works primarily with nail care, sunbed and waxing, while sisters Laura and Becca take care of hairdressing.
“All three of us are local girls, so everybody knew us already,” explained Lisa.
“We get lots of regular customers here and we don’t rely on holidaymakers.
“I think people voted for us because we have a very nice family atmosphere, we are a friendly salon and very reasonably priced.
“I want to say a massive thank you to all of our customers and all the people who voted for us.
“We are so happy it’s untrue, and we never expected to win since we were up against all the salons in Louth too.
“Thank you all once again - we really appreciate it, and all three of us are as proud as punch!”
To celebrate their win, Revolution Hair and Beauty will be holding an open day at the salon on Saturday June 5, running from 10am until 2pm, with drinks and nibbles on offer to all customers.
Go along to the salon at 39 High Street in Mablethorpe on the day to take part in the celebrations, or to book a future appointment at the salon.
Alternatively, call Lisa and her team on 01507 479990 to make an appointment.
The Leader would like to thank everybody who got involved with the ‘Salon of the Year’ competition, including all the salons that were nominated and all of our readers who sent in their votes.
