The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) are searching for people who are interested in becoming lifeguards in East Lindsey.

The charity, in partnership with East Lindsey District Council will again be providing lifeguard cover on Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea beaches during the summer months.

Sam Kendrick, RNLI lifeguard supervisor, said: “In many ways it’s a dream summer job, spending your working hours on the beach, with the possibility of being a lifesaver - but there’s a lot more to being an RNLI lifeguard than fun on the sand.

“RNLI lifeguards are trained to a very high standard in lifeguard skills, first aid and casualty care.”

East Lindsey District Council’s portfolio holder for culture, leisure and tourism, Coun Adam Grist added: “Beach lifeguards provide a vital service during the summer months when the number of people along the East Coast increases significantly.

“We have been working with the RNLI for a number of years and their presence is reassuring for the many people who use our beaches.”
