Saltfleetby garden areas and Louth British Legion Hall get £1,000’s from East Lindsey District Council
More than 20 local community projects have benefited from East Lindsey District Council’s Community Grant Scheme after receiving £70,470 worth of grants in 2012/13.
The Grant Scheme, which has now been running for three years, awarded funding to 21 community projects after receiving a total of 32 applications, requesting more than £163,000 worth of funding.
Five Small Grants were awarded as follows:
£250 to Louth Male Voice Choir to support the hosting of the 2012 ‘Young Musician of the Year’ Competition
£250 to Sunshine Children’s Centre, Burgh Le Marsh to purchase new items of equipment
£250 to Louth & District Seniors Forum to aid their distribution of a community newsletter
£250 to Grainthorpe PCC to create plans to provide kitchenette and toilet facilities in St Clement’s Church
£250 to Tennyson Amateur Players for the delivery of an Easter Holiday Drama Workshop for the children of Mablethorpe
Sixteen larger Community Grants were awarded, as follows:
£3,996 to Utterby Village Hall Committee to install a new heating system in the village hall
£8,000 to Wragby Swimming Pool Committee to complete important repairs and improvements to the pool hall building.
£8,000 to St James’s Church, Spilsby to install a kitchenette and toilet facilities in the church for community activities
£6,391 to Tetney Parish Council to rejuvenate the ‘Jubilee Garden’ and to install a village war memorial
£3,250 to the 13+ Project, Louth to deliver a project aiming to support disengaged and disillusioned young people into work, education or training
£4,637 to Burgh Le Marsh Village Hall Committee to install a new heating system in the village hall
£8,000 to Ludford Village Hall to complete a large refurbishment project of the village hall
£4,156 to the British Legion Hall, Louth to refurbish the hall’s toilets
£1,459 to the Woodhall Spa 10k Committee to purchase essential equipment for the running of the annual Woodhall Spa 10k event
£750 to Holton Le Clay Camera Club to purchase important equipment for the newly formed photography group
£2,200 to Burgh Le Marsh W.I Hall Committee to install a disabled access car park in front of the hall
£5,300 to Louth Dolphins Swimming Club to enable them to send 15 of the club’s coaching volunteers on essential coaching training
£8,000 to Louth Education Community Interest Company to support the development of a number of community initiatives from the Louth Town Hall
£1,250 to Saltfleetby Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Committee to create some community garden areas in the village
£2,531 to Burgh Parish Nursing Group to purchase new additional equipment and to send their volunteers on a series of useful training courses
£1,300 to Mablethorpe Young at Heart Club, a recently formed group, to help with equipment and hall hire costs
