East Lindsey residents can join others across Lincolnshire in saving money on their home energy bills through the new Lincolnshire Energy Switch Scheme (LESS).
Seven authorities in the county, including East Lindsey District Council, have jointly launched the campaign which invites residents to potentially save hundreds of pounds on their bills.
Energy suppliers can offer lower energy prices to a ‘collective contract’ made up of thousands of customers. The more people who register, the lower energy prices can be offered.
People who haven’t switched energy supplier and on a standard tariff are likely to bigger savings and people on pre-payment meters can also switch.
Residents can register their interest in the scheme from now until Monday, February 17. After this date, the tariff offered by the lowest bidding energy supplier will be offered to those registered. Once registered, there is no obligation to switch and customers will have one month to confirm their wish to switch supplier.
ELDC portfolio holder for communities, Coun Sandra Harrison, said: “We are encouraging as many residents as possible to make the change to the Lincolnshire Energy Switch scheme. We are always keen to look at ways to help residents reduce their monthly outgoings.”
Registration closes on February 17 so residents are urged to register their interest as soon as possible at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/switch or by calling 01522 782067.
