A private security firm has been appointed to help the county council as it enforces byelaws relating to overnight parking in coastal country car parks, including Huttoft Car Terrace.
Lincolnshire Security Ltd will be making regular patrols to deter overnight parking and identify anyone breaching the byelaws so that legal action can be taken against them.
Steve Willis, assistant director for environment, planning and customer services, said: “We’ve received a number of complaints about illegal campers at Huttoft and the other coastal car parks, and we’re determined to put a stop to it.
“We continue to work with the neighbourhood policing team, but have also employed a local security firm to help us as we enforce the byelaws. That means, from now on, anyone attempting to stay overnight can expect to be awakened in the early hours of the morning.”
He added: “The security firm will also be able to collect irrefutable evidence of who’s misusing these car parks so we can take them to court.”
The legal process has already begun against a number of individuals caught breaching the byelaws by the police, and the council remains committed to seeing this legal action through to the end.
