The Louth Branch of SSAFA wants to recruit more volunteers in the area.

To assist in advertising this campaign Louth and Horncastle MP Sir Peter Tapsell welcomed Iris Dainton on her promotion to Divisional Secretary of SSAFA Louth Branch. Sir Peter is a former serviceman himself.

Iris has been a volunteer for many years and is taking over the position from the previous post holder who has moved away.

SSAFA is a national charity set up over 125 years ago to help and support those who serve, or who used to serve, in our armed forces and their families.

The network of volunteer branches provides support to armed forces and veterans communities.

Currently there are over 6,500 volunteers across 95 branches nationwide.

Can you spare some time?

If you live in the Louth area and are able to help or if you need help they are equally happy to hear from you.

Please e-mail: ssafa.lincs@btconnect.com or call them on 0115 9573311.
