Sports clubs, leisure centres and sports organisations who want to get more young people participating in sport can now apply for the next round of Sportivate funding in Lincolnshire.

More than 250 projects have so far received funding since July 2011, allowing clubs s to offer sports sessions for children and young people.

Lucy Blakey, Children and Young People Officer at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, said: “Funding is available for projects in Lincolnshire to encourage teenagers and young adults to take part in sport.

“Each county receives Sportivate funding from Sport England until 2017 to allocate to projects to encourage young people to be active.

“It is a great opportunity to encourage young people to get involved in sport but also provides a huge financial incentive for clubs, schools and others, to deliver more sport.”

Projects are asked to base their applications on £40 per head for six to eight weeks of sessions.

The deadline to apply for the next round of funding for projects from April to June or July to September 2014 is Friday, January 17, 2014.

The application form for funding can be found online at www.lincolnshiresports.com or to request a copy call Lucy on 01522 585 580.
