The students, teachers and parents of Lacey Gardens School alongside the Clergy are recognising Earth Hour 2014.

They gathered together at St James’ Church for a photo.

Lacey Gardens’ Junior School council and members of the local clergy gathered together to show their support for Earth Hour 2014 .

The Rev Nick Brown responded to a request by the children that the church spire lights should be switched off on Saturday, at 8.30pm, along with many iconic landmarks across the world, such as the Houses of Parliament, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower and Sydney Opera House.

Earth Hour started in 2007 and is now a global movement. The organisers, WWF ( Worldwide Fund for Nature ) hope to raise awareness of the need for a sustainable future in a symbolic ‘switching off’, lights out’ display.
