A PRO energy wind group claims 500 people from the Louth area have signed letters of support for turbine applications.
Alliance for Wind visited in May and report that a ‘silent majority’ have spoken.
They state that more than 500 people supported a bid for three turbines at Louth Canal.
“This response goes to show that there is strong support within the community for wind energy,” said a statement released by the Alliance for Wind.
“The misleading refrain that wind energy is an expensive burden on the public was also disproved by recent figures from Ofgem,” the group added.
