Sutton man denies baby murder charge

A Sutton on Sea man denied the murder of 14-month-old baby Amelia Bowmar when he appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Monday.

Darryl Elliott, 30, of Sandringham Drive in Sutton on Sea, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Amelia Bowmar between July 27 and August 1 this year.

As reported, Amelia was taken to the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby with a suspected brain injury after allegedly being shaken.

She died 48-hours later after being transferred to Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Judge Michael Heath granted Elliott conditional bail at Lincoln Crown Court.

He has been ordered to live at an address in Stapleford, Nottingham and is not allowed to enter Lincolnshire as part of his bail.

The hearing was adjourned for trial in spring next year, but an exact date has not yet been confirmed.
