BROADBAND and phone company TalkTalk have apologised after a broken cable left a number of people in Mablethorpe without service on Sunday.

Some people had reported that they had no phone tone or internet access through the day.

It was confirmed that a broken BT cable was the reason for the problem.

A spokesman for the company said: “Customers in Mablethorpe may have experienced problems with their phone and broadband on Sunday afternoon, when a BT fibre optic cable broke, affecting the local exchange.

“Normal service was restored during the early hours of Monday morning.”

“We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused,” the spokesman added.
