THIEVES broke into a caravan in Mablethorpe used by terminally ill children and stole hundreds of pounds worth of donated equipment.
The caravan on the Golden Sands Haven site was targeted by ‘callous’ burglars for the second time this year.
It is one of two charity caravans on the site, owned by Ilkeston based charity, The Ben Parker Trust, better known as Ben’s Den, to provide holidays to poorly kids and their families.
The raid took place on Friday evening and £500 of equipment including a flat screen TV and a Wii games console was stolen.
Tracey Parker who set up the charity with husband Darren in memory of their son Ben, said she could not believe burglars could be so callous.
She said: “They can’t have been thinking about anything else but themselves.”
Haven said they probably have ‘the best security cover of any park in the area’ and work closely with local police and support many local crime reducing initiatives.
