Louth Lions have shown their support for Louth Park Farm by purchasing picnic benches for children that attend their ‘Farm To Fork’ days.

Hundreds of children visit Louth Park Farm every year, so these benches will be a real benefit to them. Louth Park Farm
began life as a Co-op owned Farm experience and has recently been taken over by the Welcome
Trust, taking its place alongside many other Farm To Fork locations nationwide.

Della Finlay at Louth Park Farm said: “It is so important for the children to find out exactly where food comes from - and Louth Park Farm gives them the opportunity to do just that.

“They are able to plant seeds/seedlings, make bird feeders, learn about different crops and vegetables and also cook with some of the produce grown there.

Lion president Jayne Jacklin added: “Through the purchase of the picnic tables, Louth Lions have been able to provide the children a place to sit at lunchtime outside and enjoy the environment that they are visiting.

“We also hope that many more children get a lot of use out of the picnic benches in years to come.”
