Dorothy Selfe worked in the Louth and Mablethorpe area for 24 years, while Jan Gallagher covered the Skegness and Horncastle area for 22 years and Jane Cowling covered Market Rasen and Gainsborough for 30 years.

The three Sight Impairment officers visited people with severely limited sight or no sight at all at their homes and provided an expert
advice and assessment service to them and their families.

That continuity has paid dividends for local visually impaired people, who formed long-standing relationships with Jan, Jane and Dorothy.

Now, the trio are looking forward to a well-earned retirement.

They were presented with gifts to mark the occasion at the LLBS Resource Centre
in Pleasant Place in Louth on Monday June 6.

Chair Audrey Moore praised their dedicated service and said:“It has been both a pleasure and a privilege to work with Jane, Jan and Dorothy over the years.

“I know that I speak for everyone in wishing them the very best in retirement and to tell them that they will be greatly missed not only by all the people who benefited from their expertise but also by those of us who have had the pleasure of working
with them over the years.

“Their retirement is our loss, but is a well-deserved respite for them all and we wish them well as they start a new chapter in their lives.”
