The six-piece indie band, who have been described as “the best band in Britain” in the national press, performed at the prestigious Latitude Festival the evening before their gig at Louth Town Hall.

The band played a solid hour-and-a-half set before returning for a lively encore, which saw band members clambering up on to the amp stacks, popping on a pair of goggles and diving into the crowd, before inviting a particularly enthusiastic group of fans on to the stage to join them as they finished off their set in a spectacular fashion.

Two large ‘bears’ joined in the fun, dancing amongst the audience.

Event organiser Dave Formula said: “Bob Walker and myself, who organised and promoted the show, were delighted, not only by the outstanding performance by British Sea Power, which surely has set a new reference point for live gigs in Louth, but also the welcome and reaction given to the band by the audience.

“The band’s manager got in touch to say how much they’d enjoyed playing here and what a success the night had been. He also thanked us for introducing them to Louth. They look forward to returning before too long.”

Festival organiser Nicki Jarvis added: “It was brilliant, and we really appreciate Avital Raz stepping in at the last moment to provide a great support act.

“It was great to pull people into Louth from across the UK for British Sea Power, and we are delighted that Bob Walker made it happen, together with Dave and the Town Hall team.”
