Video: Hard work sees Louth couple reach 65 years of happy marriage

Waiting for Video...

A Louth couple insist the secret of 65 years of happy marriage is simple: patience, hard work and commitment.

Leslie and Edna Pearce celebrate their Blue Sapphire anniversary on November 1.

Since being married way back in 1947 at South Thoresby Church, the couple have gone on to create an enormous family.

They had ten children, three sons and seven daughters, and their family now extends to six son-in-laws, one daughter-in-law, 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, with two more on the way!

Edna worked as a housekeeper for Louth County Hospital and Leslie spent 34 years at Eastons Bulk Milk in Alford, where he has many a story to tell.

They are now enjoying their retirement and their best friend, Lucky the Jack Russell/Datschund ensures they are always kept busy!

Watch the video to see Leslie and Edna celebrating their upcoming 65th wedding anniversary by fondly looking back on their card from the Queen, which they received for the Diamond Anniversary.
