Video: Louth printworks owner defends demolition plan
The owner of the former Allinson’s printworks building in Louth has defended his plan to demolish it to make way for eight new homes.
Geoff Allinson, owner of the Queen Street site, which also houses a former brewery and warehouse, is adamant that the building needs to be felled.
He pointed out that the building is collapsing in parts. “Another harsh winter and the whole thing could come down, we really have exhausted all options,” he said.
This comes after The Victorian Society objected to the planning application, arguing that the building is of historic local importance.
Watch the video to take an exclusive look inside the near-200 year old building.
The full story will be in the Leader on Wednesday.
