Video: Louth woman and her dog scoop Crufts ‘Best of Breed’ prize

Waiting for Video...

A Louth photographer and Gunner, a three-year-old Deerhound, proved every dog does have its day after walking away with a top prize at Crufts.

Gunner was one of over 25,000 dogs at Birmingham’s NEC, presented by the Kennel Club, which is celebrating 140 years of promoting healthy, happy dogs, and claimed the prestigious Best of Breed award last weekend.

Owner Sue Phillips fought off competition from a number of other dogs to scoop the coveted prize, presented by the Young Kennel Club.

And 42-year-old Sue was left beaming with pride at her and Gunner’s performance at the world-famous Crufts in the West Midlands.

“To go into this year’s Crufts after finishing reserve Best Dog last year, we didn’t think we would win,” she said.

“But Gunner has done fantastically and he has been a dream.

“We couldn’t be happier and prouder of him, this means a lot to us to win this award at somewhere so special as Crufts.”
