Caring Nirvanah Pickworth, aged eight, from Louth, had her waist length hair cut short so she could donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes real hair wigs for boys and girls across the UK and Ireland twho lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

She had her hair cut by Maria Hodgkinson at Simply Cuts hair salon in Queen Street free of charge to raise awareness for the charity.

Mum Sheryl Pickworth was proud of her daughter. The family have lost a close relative to cancer and Nirvanah wanted to do something. She also did the Louth Run for Life this year.

Nirvanah is a pupil at Kidgate Primary Academy.

The trust relies on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers and receives no formal funding.
